Amsterdam, 30 January 2008 - The 1st IAP/IAC Joint Session

Robert Kaptein, on behalf of Frits van Oostrom, welcomed Members of the IAC Board and IAP Executive Committee, Observers and Guests to this inaugural joint meeting *.

IAP Co-Chairs, Chen Zhu and Howard Alper, and IAC Co-Chairs, Yongxiang Lu and Bruce Alberts, provided background to the establishment of both organizations in the run up to this joint meeting and stressed that both organizations are very closely linked. By working together in partnership the organizations can enhance their impact on the global scene, share resources and achieve more. All participants were invited to introduce themselves.
