Association of Academies and Societies of Science in Asia (AASSA) and the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) have organised a side event 'Empowering scientists in the Asia-Pacific region to support the SDGs' on 29 March 2018 at the Fifth Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development: Transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies, which takes place on 28-30 March 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.

This side event is part of a three year IAP project, in partnership with the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), that will be framed around the global science community’s contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. The SDG project 'Improving Scientific Input to Global Policymaking: Strategies for Attaining the Sustainable Development Goals' is supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY).
