Asia is the region with the most diverse progressive models for different economic development states. Thus, Asian countries can benefit enormously from joint efforts of learning different development models, as well as emerging technologies of other countries. As it is a common challenge for both policy makers and governments of Asian countries and the Asian Academies to find an effective and efficient approach to economic advancement, AASSA and NAST Philippines will join forces in holding the International Symposium on Emerging Technologies for a Greener Earth in conjunction with the historic First AASSA Executive Board Meeting in Manila, Philippines on 22-24 October 2013. Experts on emerging technologies which will contribute to a greener, cleaner earth will be invited to share their expertise and experiences in their respective fields. Researchers, especially younger scientists from AASSA member countries, are also invited to present their more recent research results on topics related to the theme of the Symposium.
The International Symposium is supported by IAP, the Department of Science and Technology Philippines and its councils, the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Council (PCAARRD), the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (DENR-ERDB).
