The Workshop, hosted by TAS, will take place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan from 14-17 March 2012.
Jointly organised by the newly established Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia, AASSA (merger of AASA and FASAS) and Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan (TAS), the purpose of this regional workshop is to discuss and offer solutions to issues involving science, technology and innovation in promoting green economies in Asian countries.
Asia is the region with the most diverse development models for different economic development stages. This fact indicates, on the other hand, that Asian countries can benefit enormously by joint efforts of learning different development models of other countries. It is a common challenge not just for the policy makers or governments of Asian countries, but also for Asian Academies to find an effective and efficient approach to economic advancement. With this joint effort, AASSA and the Tajikistan Academy of Sciences are organzing this regional workshop, supported by IAP.
The main subtopics include:
National Targets and Strategy Planning
Barriers to Green Economy
Incentive Policy for Green Innovation
Green Technology Transfer
Science and Technology for Green Growth
Mechanism of Asian Cooperation
Output and Follow Up Actions
