Producing more, consuming less and improving the nutritional characteristics of foods represent the challenges of agriculture today. This was discussed on 23 February in Udine, during an event open to the public dedicated to 'Science and Sustainable Food'. The initiative was organized as part of the Trieste Laboratory on Quantitative Sustainability (TLQS), a project of the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS) and the Trieste International Foundation (FIT) thanks to the collaboration with the University of Udine and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, in partnership with the Business and professional women federation (BPW Italy – FIDAPA).
Among the speakers was IAP Coordinator, Peter McGrath, who spoke on 'Food and nutrition security and environmental sustainability: an international perspective', based largely on the IAP 'Food and Nutrition Security and Agriculture (FNSA) project.
