The virtual 2021 Uganda National Academy of Sciences (UNAS) Annual Scientific Conference will take place on Friday 29 October 2021,from 8.00 -2.00 EAT on Zoom.

The Academy’s Annual Scientific Conference (ASC) will provide a neutral platform for six experts from different sectors to exchange ideas and experiences on topical issues that foster national development (download the draft agenda here). The theme for this year’s ASC —Uganda Health: Transcending Sectors, Looking to the Future— seeks to interrogate the concept of health beyond healthcare provision and human health systems.

This year’s theme aligns with a number of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with an emphasis on SDGs 3, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 17. It also aligns with Uganda’s National Development Plan III (NDPIII). Therefore, the conference will contribute significantly to promoting NDP III in tandem with the SDGs.
