

The Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), an IAP member academy, has launched the Momentum MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme, a 5-year initiative aimed at attracting outstanding postdoctoral researchers from around the world. This prestigious programme, co-funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), will provide up to 35 talented researchers with an opportunity to advance their careers within Hungary’s dynamic “Lendüket” (Momentum) research groups. The first call for applications will open on 2 April 2025, and will award 15 postdoctoral positions.

Since its inception in 2009, the “Lendüket” Programme has been a flagship research initiative of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), providing leading scientists with full autonomy to establish independent research groups. To date, it has supported over 225 research teams, driving innovation and scientific discovery across multiple disciplines.
The Momentum MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme will run from 1 January 2025 - 31 December 2029, offering fellowships of up to 36 months, including mandatory short-term secondments (1-3 months). The programme is co-funded by the European Commission and the Secretariat of MTA under the HORIZON-MSCA-2023-COFUND-01 call (Reference number: 101179854).
