UK AMS launched a call for written evidence for its project on global clinical research pathways (focused on LMICs)
The Academy of Medical Sciences (UK), in collaboration with several science academies, is working on an international project to strengthen clinical research career pathways in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). This project aims to:
- Understand the career pipeline for clinical researchers across low- and middle-income countries, including the factors that help and hinder clinical research in LMICs.
- Promote the sharing of best practice globally and regionally.
- Bring together existing evidence to identify tools within institutions and across the research sector to build, support and strengthen locally embedded career pathways.
- Produce new evidence and analysis to fill the gaps in policy and research.
- Develop policy recommendations that will strengthen the clinical research career pathway in LMICs. This includes identifying key entry points in the career pathway for targeted interventions and programmes, to improve retention.
We invite organisations, groups and individuals to contribute written evidence, including case studies and best practices, to support the project. Please participate by completing the survey here.
Your input will be invaluable to the development of the final report and recommendations.
