Read the new IAP Communiqué
On 3 March, the leadership of the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) released a communiqué on the military offensive of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
The document stresses that “[i]f humanity is to attain the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN’s 2030 Agenda and truly ‘leave no one behind’, science and technology must be mobilized around the globe.”
“Already the COVID-19 pandemic has impeded countries in their quest to achieve the SDGs. Wars of any kind and in any location further disrupt the progress that was being made toward the SDGs on many fronts. There can never be any reason for choosing troops and weapons ahead of rational dialogue to overcome any conflict or challenge.”
You can read the full communiqué at https://www.interacademies.org/publication/iap-ukraine.
Here we have collated (and will continue to update) statements and resources on the on the current situation in Ukraine being released by IAP member academies and partner organisations from around the world. Please note that the statements collected here do not necessarily reflect the values and beliefs of IAP and are not necessarily endorsed by IAP.
