The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is set to host an online dialogue meeting on 12 March 2025, from 13:00 to 15:00 CET, focusing on the nomination of experts and fellows for the second global assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services. The meeting is open to representatives from Governments, observers and other interested stakeholders.
This dialogue follows the IPBES Plenary’s decision (IPBES-11/1) to undertake the second global assessment, prompting calls for nominations of experts (EM/2025/03) and fellows (EM/2025/04). The meeting aims to strengthen engagement in the nomination process, providing insights into the required expertise and nomination procedures. Additionally, current and past IPBES experts and fellows will share their experiences, offering valuable perspectives to prospective nominees.
Participants must register by 3 March 2025 via the following link. The session will be conducted in English. For further enquiries, please contact the technical support unit on capacity-building at tsu.capacitybuilding@ipbes.miljodir.no
