New TWAS Plus issue is out - Vol. 4, No. 6

The new bimonthly bulletin – TWAS Plus – provides important Academy news and opportunities in a bright, easy-to-use format for a diverse global audience that ranges from TWAS fellows to early career researchers.

TOP STORY: TWAS will convene its 28th General Meeting in Trieste, Italy, from 27-29 November, drawing an international audience of nearly 300 researchers and policy experts from both developing and developed regions worldwide. "Every year, the TWAS General Meeting is a celebration of excellence in science from the developing world, and a serious look at the challenges confronting countries both in the North and the South," said TWAS President Bai Chunli. "With every new meeting, our ability to address those challenges grows stronger."

IAP and the Chinese Academy of Engineering are collecting successful case studies of "Health in All Policies". Submit an abstract by 30 November.

Qualified scholars may start collaboration with 300+ centres in the South under the TWAS-UNESCO Associateship Scheme. Deadline: 5 December.

The CAS-TWAS PhD Fellowships accept 200 students per year for study at Chinese universities and research centres. Deadline: 31 March 2019.

Postdoctoral scientists from Sub-Saharan Africa stay tuned: TWAS-German Research Foundation calls for cooperation visits open soon. Deadline: 1 April 2019.
