The nomination process for the 2025 International TÜBA Academy Prizes has officially begun. Organised by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), these prestigious awards celebrate scientists who have made original and pioneering contributions in three categories: Science and Engineering Sciences, Health and Life Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities. Nominations will be accepted until 4 April 2025.
The TÜBA Academy Prizes are open to both Turkish and international scientists. Eligible nominees must have made significant contributions to research related to Türkiye, collaborated with Turkish scientific institutions or researchers, or conducted joint scientific studies with Turkish scholars.
Nominations can be submitted by TÜBA members, university rectorates in Türkiye, science academies, inter-academy organisations affiliated with TÜBA, and leading scientific institutions such as YÖK, TÜBİTAK, and TÜSEB. However, current TÜBA members, employees and individuals involved in the evaluation process are not eligible for nomination. Additionally, nominees must not have received a national or international science award from a public institution in Türkiye within the last three years. The selection process, overseen by the TÜBA Academy Council, involves rigorous evaluation by both local and international experts. Winners will be honoured with the Academy Award Medal and Beret, along with a monetary prize, at a prestigious ceremony held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.
