The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) is thrilled to present its side event taking place on 9 December (15-16.30 GST Dubai time) at COP28 in Dubai. 'The Role of Academies in Climate Policy Advice' will shine a spotlight on the indispensable role of national academies in the collaborative effort to provide impactful climate change policy advice to governments worldwide.

Overview:

This IAP session will delve into the collaborative efforts of national academies, leadership programmes fostering collaboration among early- and mid-career scientists, and other entities, in offering informed advice to governments dealing with climate change challenges. Panelists will share examples illustrating the tangible impact of independent advice on national and regional governments. The event will also underscore the significance of involving early career scientists in shaping science-based policy recommendations.
