Professor Tran Xuan Bach, lecturer at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and an alumnus of the 2013 cohort of the IAP Young Physician Leaders (YPL) programme, has been awarded the 2025 Global Healthcare Innovation Leadership Award. The award was presented at the 16th Annual Conference of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH), held from 20-23 February 2025 in Atlanta, USA.
This prestigious award recognises scientists who have made significant contributions to health innovation, health systems and digital health technologies, with a particular focus on improving access to healthcare for vulnerable populations. Bach’s work has been instrumental in integrating cost-effective health models to strengthen health systems, enhance global health resilience, and prevent pandemics in developing countries.
Receiving this award further highlights the growing recognition of Vietnamese scientists on the international stage. Previously, Bach was honoured with the 2023 Outstanding Research Award by ISPOR, the world’s leading association for health economic evaluation.
