The event, organized as part of the ongoing IAP Webinar Series, aimed to identify challenges, share experiences and explore solutions to enhance global scientific networking. The webinar featured a distinguished lineup of speakers who gave presentations and animated discussions on addressing mobility barriers for international scientists, promoting equity through improved data sharing practices, navigating intellectual property rights and removing barriers faced by women in science. Among the notable speakers were Prof. Stephanie Burton, Vice-President of the Academy of Science of South Africa and member of the IAP board, Dr. Sekazi Mtingwa from the U.S National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, Prof. Nicki Tiffin from the South African National Bioinformatics Institute, Dr. Orakanoke Phanraksa from the National Science and Technology Development Agency, Thailand and Dr. Rana Dajani, President of the Society for Advancement of Science and Technology in the Arab World.
The webinar garnered significant interest, with around 300 registrations and 75 attendees participating actively throughout the event. This marked a remarkable turnout for the series, indicating a strong resonance with the audience. The success of the webinar underscores the commitment of the IAP and its partners to fostering global scientific collaboration.
