Fernanda Beigel

Fernanda Beigel is a sociologist and has a PhD in Political and Social Sciences (2001) from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Mendoza-Argentina). She pursued her postdoctoral studies at the Centre de Sociologie Européenne (EHESS, Paris). Fernanda is the Principal Researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET, Argentina), Head Professor at the National University of Cuyo (UNCuyo) and director of the Research Center on the International Circulation of Knowledge (https://cecic.fcp.uncuyo.edu.ar/). She was the Chair of the Advisory Committee for Open Science at UNESCO during 2020 and 2021 and currently is the Chair of the Argntinian National Committee for Open Science. She is the Senior Advisor of the Latin American Forum on Research Evaluation (FOLEC-CLACSO). She has received the following honors: Bernardo Houssay Prize (2003), CLACSO Essay Award (2004), Mention of Honour to Scientific Value-Argentine National Senate (2017).
