Goedele Roos
Researcher, University of Lille, CNRS
Goedele Roos works as CNRS researcher at the Unité de glycobiologie structurale et fonctionnelle (UGSF, Univ. Lille, France) in the field of computational chemistry. Her expertise is in the field of redox biochemistry and structural (glyco)biology. Since her PhD, she works in a multidisciplinary experimental/theoretical research set up of which also her new project in the field of Terahertz spectroscopy is an example of. Here, the aim is to elucidate the origin of long-range vibrational fingerprints of biomolecules, in the Terahertz range. Together with the help of J. Olah (Budapest University, Hungary) and many others, she founded in 2015 the Winter School initiative, an annual online conference in computational chemistry. Its main aim is to ensure that scientists worldwide with different backgrounds can have access to scientific lectures. Now, the initiative has more than 2000 registrations with participants coming from more than 80 countries.
