Luiz Augusto Galvão
Dr. Luiz Augusto Galvão is a medical doctor with a Master’s and a Doctorate degree in Public Health. He is currently a senior researcher at the Center for Global Health of Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), conducting research in Social Policy, Science, Technology, Environmental Politics and International Relations. His current project regards health on the Agenda 2030 and its SDGs. He also has an appointment as adjunct professor at Georgetown University-department of Global Health.
Dr. Galvão's professional career includes extensive teaching and research experience at Fiocruz and a number of technical publications. He spent 25 years at PAHO/WHO as Head of the area of Sustainable Development, environmental health and Health Equity. He also served as president of the Brazilian Society of Toxicology.
