Assistant Professor for Clinical Development of Regenerative Therapies
Mohamed Abou El-Enein is Assistant Professor for Clinical Development of Regenerative Therapies and head of clinical development platform at Charité Medical University Berlin. He serves as a senior Teaching Assistant in clinical research at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Instructor in Translational Medicine and Regulatory Science at the Berlin-Brandenburg School for Regenerative Therapies (BSRT). ). Dr. Abou-El-Enein earned his medical degree from Mansoura Faculty of Medicine, Egypt and has specialized training in Health Care Quality Management at the American University in Cairo (AUC). He received a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biotechnologies from Strasbourg University, a Clinical Research Certificate from Harvard Medical School and a Doctoral Degree in Economics Research for Cellular Therapies, summa cum laude, from Charité University Hospital. He is leading a multi-disciplinary team of medical and scientific professionals who are actively involved in all aspects of planning and conducting clinical trials in patients suffering from rare and debilitating diseases. Additionally, he has more than 8 years of experience in the development and clinical translation of cell and gene therapies and a strong interest in public and global health and the equitable access to health care. He has conducted qualitative research projects aimed to explore stakeholder perspectives and experiences regarding the provision and use of health services for refugees in Germany. He was awarded the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship, elected as a member of the Arab-German Academy of sciences and humanities, act as the regional secretary of the International Society for Cellular Therapy and an active member of many international expert networks
