Nirina Khadgi
Director, Himalayan Research Forum Nepal; Executive Member, National Young Academy of Nepal
Nirina Khadgi received her MSc. in Environmental Science from Central Department of Environmental Science, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal and her Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Hohai University, P. R. China. She was awarded a CSC scholarship for her Doctoral studies and also received a Hohai Academic Excellence Award in 2015 for her outstanding performance in her research. She was also awarded with a Green Talents Award in 2018 by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for her research work in removal of emerging contaminants from water using photocatalysis. She worked as a Visiting Researcher in Technical University of Munich, Germany on degradation of antibiotics and genotoxicity assessment.
Currently, she is Director at Himalayan Research Forum Nepal, an environment consultancy company, Executive member at National Young Academy of Nepal where she co-leads Research Ethics Working Group, Co-chair of Asia Water Council Young Professionals and Visiting researcher at Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences.
