"I got my medical degree at Universidad Nacional in Bogot·, Colombia. I then worked for my social service year at an adoption foundation. Afterwards I was a neurology resident for two years at Escuela Colombiana de Medicina - FundaciÛn Santa Fe in Bogot·. From 2004 till the end of last year I was a graduate student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where I obtained a PhD in neuroscience. Currently I am a professor at the medical school of Universidad de los Andes in Bogota; with both teaching and research duties. My research focuses in the basic mechanisms of human diseases like epilepsy and cardiac arrhythmias"
