Paulo Saldiva, MD, PhD, is Professor of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo. His main interests are Environmental and Cardiopulmonary Pathology, with special emphasis on how social, economic and physical urban environmental conditions influence human health. He is also member of the Brazilian National Academy of Medicine and of the Institute of the Advanced Studies of the U. of São Paulo.
