The project on ‘Institutionalising Science Advice to Governments’ supported by the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA) and Inter-Academy Partnership (IAP) network was initiated by the National Academy of Sciences of Sri Lanka (NASSL) in 2023 with regional academies and organisations as its partners. The workshop on ‘Institutionalising Science Advice to Governments’ 2023, was held as a hybrid event from 6 to 8 July 2023 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

At the event was presented a situational analysis of the existing science advice processes/structures in the partner countries, based on the data collected through this project.  Therefore, based on the strengths and weaknesses of existing systems, several ‘contextualized roadmaps’ will be developed for each country with the long-term aim of improving the structures and processes of science advice.
