The IAP invites young academies and cohort-based early career leadership programmes to join as Young Affiliates

The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) is pleased to announce the launch of its Young Affiliates category, inviting young academies and cohort-based early career leadership programmes in science, medicine  and engineering to join its global network. This initiative aims to strengthen the connection between emerging scientific leaders and the broader scientific community, fostering collaboration, capacity-building and impactful policy engagement.

By fostering the development of Young Affiliates, IAP ensures a strong pipeline of future leaders who will contribute to the organization's growth, sustainability, and global impact for years to come." The Young Affiliates category is designed to provide young academies and cohort-based early career leadership programmes of science, engineering and medicine with opportunities to:

• Engage in global scientific discussions and policy initiatives
• Access a network of established academies and leading experts across disciplines and regions
• Participate in capacity-building programmes, workshops and collaborative projects
• Gain visibility and recognition within the international scientific community

Interested organisations must meet specific criteria, including alignment with IAP’s mission, merit-based selection of members and a commitment to active participation in IAP initiatives.

Applications are welcome on a rolling basis, but to be considered in the first review cycle, submissions should be received by 30 May 2025. The IAP Membership Committee will conduct its review in June 2025.
