Georg Bërveniku-Brunner has assumed the role of Executive Director of EASAC as of 1 January 2024. Mr Bërveniku-Brunner holds a Master's degree in Sociology (University of Vienna) and has broad professional experience in the science and communication sector. He has been working at the Austrian Academy of Sciences as an officer for strategy and organisational development since April 2014. Among other things, he was responsible for the implementation of the event series "Colloquium Digitale" curated by the ÖAW working group on digitalisation as project lead. Furthermore, he worked as the office of the ÖAW Senate and the ÖAW Research Board, co-organised major conferences (TWAS General Conference 2016, Joint Science Conference Western Balkans Process 2015), was involved in internal auditing and risk management, and co-managed important strategy projects (ÖAW development plan etc.).
